RED WARRIORS STAGE LATE FIGHTBACK TO ENTER FINAL

MALAYSIA CUP: KELANTAN 2(4) - ATM 2(3)

Kelantan proved why they are still the Malaysia powerhouse of football after showing an amazing fightback which took them into the Malaysia Cup final again.

The Red Warriors looked dead and buried when ATM's Marlon Alex James scored 2 goals in the first half of the Malaysia Cup semi final second leg match in Kota Bharu. The goals stunned the 30000 crowd and put Kelantan into a deep pressure.

Despite winning 2-1 in the first leg match at Selayang Stadium last week, Kelantan now need to respond with at least 2 goals in the remaining 45 minutes. The Red Warriors doubled their efforts in the second half but ATM had expected it.

ATM denied a series of attacks by the home side. Kelantan increased their fire power by sending in Fakri Saarani late in the second half, and he strucked with a goal in the 82nd minute. As the match resumed, the warriors fought on until their skipper Badhri Radzi scored the equaliser to send Kelantan into their fourth Malaysia Cup final in five years.
