PAHANG MARCHES ON, PKNS WALKS OUT

MALAYSIA CUP: PKNS 1 - PAHANG 2

PKNS desire to overturn the 2-3 aggregates from the first leg quarter-final match in Kuantan last week end with a disaster as they lost again 1-2 to Pahang at Shah Alam Stadium tonight. Despite PKNS pressures to find an early goal, Pahang seemed calm overcoming the home side's threats.

As both sides trying to conquer the ground, Pahang was awarded a penalty when Mathias Conti was brought down by Ahmad Azlan Zainal. Conti himself converted the penalty by sending Mohd Remezy to the wrong side.

PKNS increased their attacks, but Pahang held on until half-time break.

Second half turned on with PKNS continuous attacks into the Pahang area. PKNS had a few shots towards Pahang goal, but it was Pahang who found the net again in the 59th minute. Azammuddin beat Remezy on the air to score the second goal of the night.

PKNS continued the game in top gear, all out attacks. Their tireless effort was finally rewarded as Khairu Azrin launched a powerful shot to beat Pahang's Khairul Azhan. PKNS continued their hunt for more goals, but Mohd Razman played solid defending alongside Damion Stewart, the home side's attacks were easily repelled.

Pahang moves into semi-final and will face the winner of Sarawak - Sime Darby match tomorrow.
