PAHANG TAKES FRONT SEAT

MALAYSIA CUP: PAHANG 3 - SARAWAK 1

Pahang snatched an early advantage in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 win over Sarawak in the first leg match at the Darul Makmur Stadium on Saturday night. It was a deserving victory for The Elephants who played confidently from the start of the first half. They found the net three times in 10 minutes.

Mohd Azamuddin Akil (Alex) opened the scoring in the 29th minute before he added his second of the night in the 33rd minutes. The visitor tried to raise their games after the second goal. However, Argentinian Matias Conti scored a wonder goal to give the home side a comfortable 3-0 lead in the 38th minute.

Sarawak did not give up and responded to the pressure. A deflected effort from Mohd Shahrol Saperi in the 40th minute kept Premier League champions Sarawak in contention for the return leg which takes place on Oct 26 at the State Stadium in Kuching.
