ATM SHOWS LIONS XII THE EXIT

MALAYSIA CUP: ATM 4 - LIONS 1

ATM cruises into the Malaysia Cup semi final after defeating Lions XII 4-1 at Selayang Stadium tonight. Marlon Alex James was the hero of the night as he scored a hattrick against the Singapore team.

It was a great performance by B. Sathianathan's squad to overcome the 1-0 first leg defeat on the Lions' artificial grass. ATM got an early lead from an own goal by Hariss Harun's misclearance which bounced-off his own goalkeeper in the 22nd minute. Marlon doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a brilliant finishing from Hairuddin Omar's through ball.

Lions were back in the competition after the break when Hafiz Abu Sujad found the net in the 49th minute.

The ATM were not down yet despite knowing that the Lions are ahead with an away goal. Marlon finally found the net again in the 75th minute as he curled a free kick beyond Lions' goalkeeper reach.

Lions tried to respond against the strong ATM defence. But Marlon Alex James buried the Singapore side with his third for the night in the 83rd minute.

ATM will face the winner of Kelantan-JDT match which will be played in Kota Bharu tomorrow.
