SAFEE SALI SENDS JDT TO THE TOP

LIGA SUPER: ATM 0 - JDT 1

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) took the top spot in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) after a hard-fought 1-0 win over ATM on Saturday. The Armed Forces did not give it up easily to the high flying visitors in Paroi, but Safee Sali's strike was enough to cheer the Southern Tigers' fans.

JDT could have celebrated earlier, however Luciano Figueroa's goal was dissalowed for a rough challenge on ATM goalkeeper Hafizuddin Azuhar. Pahang lost 4-2 at the hands of Lions XII gave the Southern Tigers the motivation to go all out for that important win. ATM played their hearts out despite having a bad run recently.

Safee Sali finally gave JDT that much needed goal when he brilliantly strike a low cross from Amri Yahyah through the crowded ATM's area. The home side tried to strike back but Jerry Palacios header missed the target. The score remained until the end, and the defending champions are back on top of the table.
