JOHOR DT RETAIN SUPER LEAGUE TITLE

​LIGA SUPER: FELDA UNITED 2 - JDT 1

Felda United beat Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) 2-1 but could not deny the Southern Tigers from claiming the Malaysia Super League title at Selayang Stadium last Saturday. It is the second consecutive Super League victory for JDT after their closest rival, Pahang failed to collect any point in Kuala Terengganu.

​Felda took an early lead when Shahrul Saad headed in Zah Rahan Krangar cross just four minutes after the kick-off. Five minutes later, JDT were reduced to ten men after Junior Eldstal was sent off after fouling Ndumba Makeche inside the penalty area. Indra Putra Mahayuddin later converted the penalty and put Felda in comfort with 2 goals lead.

​JDT however pulled the game back when Luciano Figueroa reduced the deficit in 35th minute through a penalty after Christie Jayaseelan handed the ball inside the penalty area. Felda United managed to hold the visitors until the end to earn full points at Selayang and put them in fifth for their best ever result in Super League competition.

Retaining the Malaysia Super League title is very special for Mario Gomes who had only taken the job for just five month. In addition, the Southern Tigers also bagged RM750,000-00 for winning the league. 




TERENGGANU HAMMER PAHANG ON FINAL DAY

​LIGA SUPER: TERENGGANU 3 - PAHANG 1

Pahang's title hope dashed after falling 1-3 to the exceptional Terengganu in a crucial final day match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium. The two-horse race in the Malaysia Super League this year ended with JDT claiming the title after their last match as Pahang failed to earn any point in Kuala Terengganu.

Terengganu took early charge in the match with Issey Nakajima Farran opening goal in the 15th minute. Ashaari Samsuddin stretched the Turtles lead with a fine finish in 33rd minute. Pahang could not stop the on form Terengganu players and the score remained 2-0 until the break.
 
Damion Stewart gave Pahang a fighting chance when reduced the deficit two minutes after restart . While Tok Gajah seeking for an equalizer, a defensive blunder allowed Nasril Izzat Jalil to add the third goal for Terengganu in 67th minute. Pahang faded and failed to bounce back after the third goal to hand Terengganu an impressive win.

JDT MOVE A STEP CLOSER TO SUPER LEAGUE TITLE

​LIGA SUPER: JDT 4 - PERAK 1

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) took back the top spot in the Malaysia Super League after hammering Perak at Larkin Stadium on Tuesday. With just two games left, the Southern Tigers displayed an exceptional performance against their visitors. 

Luciano Figueroa open the scoring for JDT with a fine header after receiving Safiq Rahim free-kick in 44th minute. It is his 11th league goal of the season that gave JDT a slim first half lead at the break.

​Three minutes after the match resumed, Nazreen Nawi gave JDT their second of the night after his left foot shot flew into the goal post. Thiago Junior pulled one goal back for Perak in 60th minute through a header after receiving Syazwan Roslan corner.

JDT raised the tempo and subtitute S.Chanturu regained the two goal cushion for JDT in the 66th minute. Six minutes later, Safiq Rahim drove JDT into the comfort zone with the fourth goal after receiving a pass from S.Kunalan.

JDT are now leading the title race with 46 points, two above Pahang with one game left to be played. Pahang wasted their opportunity after being held to a draw against Felda United in Kuantan.  


SELANGOR TIGHTEN GRIP FOR THIRD PLACE FINISH

​LIGA SUPER: SELANGOR 3 - KELANTAN 0

Selangor are looking good to finish third in Malaysian Super League campaign after beating Kelantan 3-0 at the Shah Alam Stadium. Ahmad Hazwan Bakri put the Red Giants ahead in 24th minute with a long range free kick.

​The score stood until the break and Selangor came back stronger in the second part. Guihelme De Paula scored a double after the break. The first came just five minutes after the restart. The Red Warriors could not play the same way they played last week against JDT.

Guihelme added another thirteen minutes later from the penalty spot after Hazwan was brought down by Kelantan goalkeeper Shahrizan Ismail. Selangor will face Perak in the last match of Super League campaign at Perak Stadium on 22nd August 2015

SAFEE SALI SENDS JDT TO THE TOP

​LIGA SUPER: ATM 0 - JDT 1

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) took the top spot in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) after a hard-fought 1-0 win over ATM on Saturday. The Armed Forces did not give it up easily to the high flying visitors in Paroi, but Safee Sali's strike was enough to cheer the Southern Tigers' fans.

​JDT could have celebrated earlier, however Luciano Figueroa's goal was dissalowed for a rough challenge on ATM goalkeeper Hafizuddin Azuhar. Pahang lost 4-2 at the hands of Lions XII gave the Southern Tigers the motivation to go all out for that important win. ATM played their hearts out despite having a bad run recently.

​Safee Sali finally gave JDT that much needed goal when he brilliantly strike a low cross from Amri Yahyah through the crowded ATM's area. The home side tried to strike back but Jerry Palacios header missed the target. The score remained until the end, and the defending champions are back on top of the table.

FELDA UNITED MOVE UP, PERAK CRASH AGAIN

​LIGA SUPER: PERAK 0 - FELDA UNITED 2 

Felda United took their chance over Perak's poor form as they claimed a deserving 2-0 win away from home. It is Perak's fourth straight defeat which saw them fell to 8th place in the Super League.

Both team failed to break the duck in the first half. However, Shukor Adan was quick to seize an opportunity from a misttake by Perak goalkeeper Zamir Selamat. The Felda United's skipper sent the ball into the net to give his team the lead.
The Fighters extended their lead eight minutes later when Christie Jayaseelan's attempt was deflected by Raffi Nagoorgani into his own net. Perak tried to fight back but Felda United's defence was rock solid.

SELANGOR MOVES UP TO THIRD AFTER WIN OVER SIME DARBY

​LIGA SUPER: SIME DARBY 1 - SELANGOR 3

Selangor finally picked their first win in four matches after defeating bottom club, Sime Darby on Saturday. The Red Giants gave no chance to the struggling home side before recording a 3-1 victory at the Selayang Stadium.

Selangor opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Rizal Fahmi Rosid headed in a free kick by Andik Vermansyah. Eight minutes later, Guilherme de Paula scored his first league goal after two months from the penalty spot.

​Sime Darby fought back against the confident visitors. They reduced the deficit with Reinaldo Da Costa's header on the half-hour mark.

Selangor held on strongly in the second half and Sime Darby ran out of idea to find the equaliser. The Red Giants finished off Sime Darby's chance with a goal by Abdul Hadi Yahya ten minutes from time after receiving a pass from Guilherme.

PDRM SPOILS PERAK TITLE HOPES

​LIGA SUPER: PDRM 3 - PERAK 2

Perak title hopes evaporated after an away defeat to PDRM. The Cops recorded a 3-2 win over the Bos Gaurus at Shah Alam Stadium.

After losing to Kelantan last week, Perak struggled to get back to their good form. A brace from Ali Ashfaq and a goal from Dramane Traore handed PDRM a convincing lead over the visitors.

Perak tried to fight back but their goals arrived too late in the injury time. Thiago Aquino and Horace James scored a goal each after the regulation time, but were not enough to secure any points from the match.

RONALDINHO STARS IN PKNS WIN OVER JDT II

​LIGA PERDANA: PKNS 2 - JDT II 0

PKNS FC kept themselves close to the Premier League leaders Kedah and T-Team. The Red Ants have narrowed down the gap with the top two teams after a 2-0 win over Johor Darul Ta'zim II (JDT II) at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca on Tuesday.

​Liberian hotshot Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh (10th) and Pedro Henrique (43rd) scored for PKNS to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

​Third-placed PKNS, with 30 points, are ahead of Penang on goal difference as the race for the title and Super League promotion heads into the last five matches. Only the top two teams will advance.

JDT THRASH SIME DARBY TO STAY CLOSE WITH LEAGUE LEADER

​​LIGA SUPER: JDT 4 – SIME DARBY 0

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) beat Sime Darby 4-0 in Larkin on Wednesday to keep the pressure on Malaysia Super League leader, Pahang. Sime Darby became the latest prey of the Southern Tigers in pursuit of Super League success.

JDT took the lead after the half hour mark through Luciano Figueroa's header from a corner kick. Asraruddin Putra doubled the lead in the 41st minute with another header which found the back of the net. The score remained until the break.

​The Southern Tigers were in full of confidence as they carry on to control the game in the second half. Just four minutes after the match resumed, Safiq Rahim launched a powerful shot to give JDT a comfortable three goals lead.

​It was not enough for the home side until Figueroa's spectacular Scissor-Kick went in for JDT's fourth goal of the night. The win is JDT's fourth win in a row and has collected 37pts from 17 matches played.

In another match at the Kuantan Stadium, Pahang beat ATM 2-0 to stay ahead of JDT in the Super League. Dickson Nwakaeme's double in the first half was enough to send the Elephants two points clear at the top of the table.

PAHANG WIN OVER SIME DARBY AFTER EARLY SCARE

​LIGA SUPER: SIME DARBY 2 - PAHANG 4

Pahang bounced back to beat bottom of the table club Sime Darby after an early scare in a match at Selayang Stadium. The Super League leaders were two goals down after 13 minutes but staged a fantastic comeback to record a 4-2 win away from home.

​Sime Darby stunned the Elephants through Serbian Marko Perovic's brace in the 10th and 13th minutes. Pahang bounced back with a goal in the 30th minute by Damion Stewart who headed in Azamuddin Akil's cross. Pahang kept the pressure on the home team after their opening goal, but the score stood until the break.

However, Matias Conti grabbed the equaliser for Pahang after completing on Stewart's pass on in the 58th minute. The Argentinian was on target again in the nine minutes later to put Pahang ahead with a header from Dickson Nwakaeme's cross.

​​Fauzi Roslan added more misery for Sime Darby in the 73rd minute as he scored from Nwakaeme's pass. Pahang remain on top of the Malaysia Super League with 36 points, while Sime Darby occupying the bottom spot with just 5 point.


T-TEAM CRASHED TO JDT II AT PASIR GUDANG

​LIGA PERDANA: JDT II 4 - T-TEAM 1

JDT II took full advantage of playing on their own ground to beat T-Team 4-1 at the Pasir Gudang Stadium. The win moved them up to 4th in the Premier League standings with 27 points from 16 matches.

Mohd Shafiq Shaharuddin put JDT II ahead with the opening goal in the 14th minutes. T-Team's new signing, Tomislav Busic equalised for the visitors from the penalty spot seven minutes later.

​JDT II increased their game and took control of the match. Skipper Shahril Ishak regained the lead a minute before the break for JDT II.

JDT II pressed the visitors harder in the second half. Just three minutes after the restart, Baihakki Khaizan gave his side their third goal of the night.

​T-Team could not find the right tempo to overcome the confident home side. Mohd Akmal Ishak found the net in the 61st minute to put JDT II 4-1 up. JDT II cruised to win the match and kept their promotion dream alive.



KUALA LUMPUR SINKS PENANG AT MERDEKA STADIUM

​LIGA PERDANA: KUALA LUMPUR 2 - PENANG 0

Kuala Lumpur dent Penang hopes in breaking for the top two spot of Malaysia Premier League table after the Hawks beat the Panthers 2-0 at Merdeka Stadium last Friday.

Tied with 0-0 in the first half, Penang looked more fearful in second half with Hilton Moreira kept pumping up the pressure over Kuala Lumpur's defenders with a some dangerous attacks. Kuala Lumpur finally broke the deadlocks with Lee Jin-Seuk strike in 62nd minutes with a powerful shot in the penalty area.

​While Penang doubled-up their efforts in seeking for an equalizer, Pritam Singh put Kuala Lumpur in comfort after the winger low shot hits the net for the Hawks to lead the game with 2 goals advantage. Penang failed to break the Kuala Lumpur then and the result remained with Kuala Lumpur beat Penang 2-0. Kuala Lumpur earned three value points at Merdeka Stadium.

RED WARRIORS CLAIMS THREE POINTS AGAINST PERAK

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: KELANTAN 1 - PERAK 0

Kelantan showed their true potential after collecting their third win in four games on Saturday. The Red Warriors beat high-flying Perak 1-0 in Kota Bharu with Wan Zack Haikal's goal.

The visitors were missing skipper Nasir Basharuddin in their starting line-up, and Kelantan kept pressing them to the limit. Erwin Carillo gave Perak an early scare as his strike hit the bar. Perak held on strongly until the break.

Kelantan continued their mission in the second half. Their efforts were finally rewarded as Wan Zack found the net in the 73rd minute. It was the only goal of the night for Kelantan to stay on at ninth place in the Super League, and Perak remain at third.



ATM DOWN, TERENGGANU FLYING HIGH

​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: ATM 1 - TERENGGANU 5

Terengganu thrashed ATM 5-1 on their own ground in Saturday's Super League match in Seremban. Issey Nakajima-Farran's second-half hattrick sent the Gladiators further into the relegation zone.

​Ismail Faruqi opened the scoring for Terengganu with a header in the 17th minute. Abdulafees Abdulsalam equalised for ATM six minutes later as his curling free kick beat the visitors' goalkeeper.

​The second half resumed and the Turtles shifted into top gear. Gustavo Lopez put Terengganu in-front again from a freekick five minutes after the restart. Substitute, Nakajima-Farran gave Terengganu their third of the night with a tap-in from Norshahrul Idlan Talaha's cross.

The Canadian striker completed his hattrick after scoring another two goals in the 73rd and 80th minute. The result sent Terengganu up to seventh place above PDRM.
