COMFORT WIN FOR KEDAH IN ALOR SETAR

MALAYSIA CUP: KEDAH 3 - PAHANG 1

Kedah are just a step away into the semi-finals after grabbing a comfortable 3-1 win over Pahang in Darulaman Stadium yesterday. The Red Eagles were in front after Namgung Woong broke the deadlock in 8th minute after receiving a pass from Rizal Ghazali. Shocked by the goal, the visitors double their effort and almost had an equalizer but R.Gopinath blew the chances in front of the goal. Pahang continued to play an attacking style with long range attempts but failed to find the net. The score remain 1-0 in the first half.

In second half, a quick counter attack has given Kedah a bigger lead after Farhan Roslan headed the ball into the net after receiving a cross from Baddrol Bakhtiar.  Pahang added more spark into the frontline and the effort worth after Mathias Conti reduced the deficit after his free kick was deflected by Kedah defender before the ball flew into the net and left Saiful Amar Sudar in wrong direction helplessly. With the result looks to end with 2-1 score, Billy Mehmet tapped the ball to Khyril Muhaimeen Zambri and the ex-national hit man slot the ball for the third goal for Kedah which gave them an extra advantage for the second meeting at Kuantan this Friday.
