LIGA SUPER: JDT 4 – SIME DARBY 0
Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) beat Sime Darby 4-0 in Larkin on Wednesday to keep the pressure on Malaysia Super League leader, Pahang. Sime Darby became the latest prey of the Southern Tigers in pursuit of Super League success.
JDT took the lead after the half hour mark through Luciano Figueroa's header from a corner kick. Asraruddin Putra doubled the lead in the 41st minute with another header which found the back of the net. The score remained until the break.
The Southern Tigers were in full of confidence as they carry on to control the game in the second half. Just four minutes after the match resumed, Safiq Rahim launched a powerful shot to give JDT a comfortable three goals lead.
It was not enough for the home side until Figueroa's spectacular Scissor-Kick went in for JDT's fourth goal of the night. The win is JDT's fourth win in a row and has collected 37pts from 17 matches played.
In another match at the Kuantan Stadium, Pahang beat ATM 2-0 to stay ahead of JDT in the Super League. Dickson Nwakaeme's double in the first half was enough to send the Elephants two points clear at the top of the table.
