MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SARAWAK 0 - JDT 1
Star-studded Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) clinched the coveted Super League title in style by beating Sarawak 1-0 at the State Stadium in Kuching. Matches played were the final fixtures in the 2014 Super League season which came to a close last night.
JDT who finished with 44 points pocketed RM500,000 while second placed Selangor accumulated 41 points while Pahang with 37 points finished third. Selangor finished as the runner-up after managing only a 2-2 draw against relegated PKNS FC at the Shah Alam Stadium. Argentina import Jorge Pereyra Diaz was the toast of JDT after squeezing in the winner in the 66th.
Apart from winning the Super League title, JDT also earned a ticket to play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC Cup) for the second time after 2009.
