BORRUSIA DORTMUND TEACH JDT A FOOTBALL LESSON

FRIENDLY: JOHOR DT 1 - BORRUSIA DORTMUND 6

Borussia Dortmund thrashed Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) in a friendly match at Larkin Stadium on Thursday. The German powerhouse had Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in their starting line-up. Dortmund took the lead through a free kick taken by Gundogan in the 22nd minute which beat JDT goalkeeper Mohd Farizal Marlias.

The eight-time Bundesliga champions doubled their lead when Aubameyang tapped the ball home following a low cross by Marcel Schmelzer. JDT had a defensive mistake in the 32nd minute between Mohd Farizal and Asraruddin Putra Omar which allowed Kevin Kampl to slot in the third goal. The Southern Tigers managed to pull a goal back when midfielder Gary Steven Robbat, who had trained with the German club for six month, slammed the ball pass Roman Weidenfeller in the 39th minute.

The second half did not turn better for the home side. Japanese star Shinji Kagawa made it 4-1 in the 73rd minute from a cross by his compatriot Maruoka Mitsuro. JDT brought in Mohd Izham Tarmizi Roslan to replace Farizal, but he was beaten by Jeremy Calvin Dudziak in the 81st minute. Marco Reus completed the rout in the 90th minute with a good finishing inside JDT's area. Dortmund completed their Asian Tour friendly match with another big win over JDT after beating Japanese J-League club, Kawasaki Frontale 6-0 two days earlier.
