MALAYSIA WENT DOWN TO VIETNAM IN FRIENDLY

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: VIETNAM 3 - MALAYSIA 1

Malaysia's preparation for 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup competition is still in the negative form after losing to 3-1 to Vietnam in a friendly match at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, on Sunday. Having suffered with a heavy defeat against Syria last Wednesday, Malaysia still fail to make an impact while in overall performance it still looks gloom and clueless with another lackluster performance shown during the match played.

Malaysia started the game well in the first half after Mohd Amri Yahyah put the Malaysian Tigers in front with a fine finish in 23rd minutes. Malaysia should have added more goals but the players squandered the chances away which put the result remain unchanged until halftime.

Down by a goal, Vietnam started to pounced back with an attacking display and their effort worth after Mac Hong Quan leveled the score one minutes after restart followed by Nguyen Van Quyet penalty in 56th minutes before Ngo Hoang Thinh sealed the victory for Vietnam in 81st minutes. Despite the loss, Malaysia also finished the game with ten men after Muslim Ahmad was given a marching orders five minutes after the break due to a hard tackle against Mac Hong Quan.
