Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) took another big step towards qualifying the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Cup after an impressive 5-0 win over Penang yesterday.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz netted JDT's opening goal in the third minute in his first start for his club since returning from Argentina before Luciano Figueroa converted from the penalty spot in the 29th minute followed by Amri Yahyah's strike nine minutes later.
After the break, Figueroa netted his second in the 54th minute to give the Southern Tigers a 4-0 lead before Harris Harun added a fifth seven minutes from time. JDT lead the group with 10 points, four ahead of second-placed Kelantan with two rounds left followed by ATM (5) and Penang (1).
