CHELSEA 'B' STUNS LIVERPOOL AT ANFIELD


It may be the match of the season, where the top two playing against each other in the last three matches. Liverpool had all the advantage by playing on their home ground Anfield. While Chelsea was playing without their first choice goalkeeper. Fortunately, the 'Special One' Jose Mourinho has drawn a special plan for this encounter.

Demba Ba opened the scoring for the visitors after Steven Gerrard slipped following a Mamadou Sakho's pass. Ba sprinted to send the ball pass Simon Mignolet. Chelsea held on to take the lead until the break.

In the second period, Liverpool increased the pressure on Chelsea. Mark Schwarzer saved a number of attempts by the home side. The Blues made sure of the win when Willian found the net after receiving a pass from former Liverpool player, Fernando Torres in the injury time.

Liverpool's 11-match unbeaten run came to end by Chelsea, who are now just two points away from the league leader. Manchester City sit six points off the Reds in third position, with two games in hand and a better goal difference as the title race looks set to go right to the wire.

LIONS FALL VICTIM TO RED GIANTS


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SELANGOR 1 - LIONS XII 0


Selangor collected another three points after taking down Lions XII at Shah Alam Stadium. Steve Pantelidis goal was enough for the Red Giants' narrow 1-0 win over Lions XII. The Australian, who was pushed to play in midfield by coach Mehmet Durakovic, headed in the winner in the 23rd minute for Selangor's eighth win.


The win is a perfect response from the Red Giants, after crashing out of the AFC Cup on Wednesday. Selangor also reclaimed second spot in the Super League with 27 points from 13 matches, and keeping the pressure on leaders Pahang who lead by a point and have played a game more.


Selangor got the breakthough when Pantelidis nodded in the goal after receiving a flick from striker Paulo Rangel. Andik Vermansyah and S. Kunalan were dangerous for the Lions' defence throughout the match. Lions struggled to get back into the game but Selangor held the fort perfectly.

SIME DARBY SHOCKS KELANTAN


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 4 - KELANTAN 0

It was a superb performance by Sime Darby as they hammered the 2013 FA Cup Champion, Kelantan 4-0 at Selayang Stadium on Tuesday. The result marked as Steve Darby's final match in-charge of the Red Warriors. At the other end, Sime Darby celebrated their new signing, Mateo Roskam from Croatia who hit a hattrick for the home side. 

Kelantan weak defense was clearly exposed by Sime Darby's forwards. The home side took just four minutes to open the scoring when Roskam headed in a fine cross from Azmirul Azmi.

Kelantan tried to find the right rhythm in the second half. However, Roskam was quick to kill the visitors' hopes with another goal in the 46th minute. Mahmoud punished Kelantan unsettled defenders again in the 65th minute from a mistake by Khairul Fahmi and Mohd. Farisham Ismail. And the visitors' nightmare turned worst when Roskam completed his hattrick arrived in the 70th minute.

It was a terrible night for Kelantan after losing the match. Team manager Steve Darby was released by the management due to their poor form this season.

PAULO R-ANGEL FOR SELANGOR AGAIN!


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SELANGOR 1 - PERAK 0

Playing with ten men was not an excuse for the Selangor not to collect three valuable points against bottom place Perak. The Red Giants defeated Perak with 1-0 at Shah Alam Stadium. Paulo Rangel is the hero again as his goal scoring form continued. In the 8th minute Rangel did not waste the opportunity to struck his 10th goal for the Red Giants. 

Selangor squandered a chance for a second goal after Thamil Arasu crossed the ball to Rangel but Syazwan Roslan saved it. Just a minute before halftime, Selangor new signing from Brazil, Evaldo Silva was given the marching order by the referee for elbowing Kyaw Zayar Win and Selangor were down to 10 men.

Twenty minutes after the break, Perak were down to 10 men after the referee showed another red card to Mohd Rafiq Nagoorkani after collecting his second yellow card for a hard tackle against Mohd Fitri Shazwan. The score stood until the final whistle, Selangor edge Perak for the second time in the Super League, after winning with same score in Ipoh last week.

KELANTAN PILES ATM INTO RELEGATION WORRIES


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: ATM 0 - KELANTAN 2

Kelantan sent ATM deep into relegation zone after a 2-0 win at Selayang Stadium. The win moved the Red Warriors up to fourth in the standings thanks to goals by Badhri Radzi and Francis Doe.


Badhri Radzi could have made it 2-0 in the first 20 minutes but failed to find the net from two good chances. However, the Kelantan skipper rectified for his mistakes when he scored after receiving a pass from Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria, right before the break.


Marlon Alex James, who returned from injury for the Gladiators, had a goal ruled offside. The 2013 top scorer left the field late in the second half, due to an injury and ATM had to fight on with 10 men after making three substitutions.

The Red Warriors did not waste the advantage of having extra man on the field. Francis Forkey Doe found the net after receiving a return pass from Badhri six minutes from time.

FELDA'S GOOD RUN CONTINUES


MALAYSIA PREMIER LEAGUE: FELDA UTD 3 - DRB-HICOM 2

Felda United continued their good run in the Malaysia Premier League after defeating DRB-Hicom 3-2 at Selayang Stadium. It is Irfan Bakti's fifth consecutive win this season.

Ahmad Shamim Yahya put Felda in front in the 17th minute after receiving a cross from Solihin Kanasian. Just three minutes later, Edward Junior Wilson doubled the lead when he found the net from a good run through DRB's defence. 

As Felda looked comfortable with a two goal lead, Stanley Ogunboye Iyanu found the net to give a fight back chance for DRB-Hicom. The score remained until the break.

As the match resume, DRB-Hicom raised their game. However, the homeside were given the spotkick after Solihin was brought down inside DRB's penalty area. Edward Junior Wilson did not make mistake to give Felda United a two-goal cushion.

DRB Hicom did not give up and increased the pressure on the host. The visitor got a penalty in the 82nd minute, and Mohammad Naeem Rahimi send it right to beat Felda's goalkeeper Farizal Harun.

The homeside held on to keep the score until full time. Felda United collected another 3 points and moved up to third in the table, below PDRM and Pulau Pinang.

SELANGOR WINS AND STAY CLOSE TO LEADER


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PERAK 0 - SELANGOR 1

At Ipoh Stadium, a penalty from former Perak player, Paulo Rangel has ensured the Red Giants are trailing by two points from current league leader Pahang for the title hunt. The Bos Gaurus defender make a mistake after taking S.Veenod down in penalty area and Paulo Rangel make no mistake to put Selangor in charge in 21st minutes.

Perak were down to 10 men after Shahrizal Mohd Saad were shown a red card after making a dangerous tackle against Stilianos Pentelidis in 40 minutes after restart. With this win Selangor are third in the league after collecting 20 points from 10 match played which equals with Terengganu but saparated by a goal different while Perak are still in bottom with 8 points after 11 game played.

PKNS HOLDS STAR STUDDED JDT


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PKNS 1 - JOHOR DT 1

Ten man PKNS braved the storm to hold Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) for a 1-1 draw at Shah Alam Stadium. The star-studded JDT failed failed to make their numerical advantage tell as the homeside held strong to keep the score until the final whistle.

JDT named Daudsu Jamaluddin in the first eleven, which is his first start this season, while defender Mahali Jasuli was assigned to the right flank. The cash-rich Southern Tigers had only themselves to blame for the draw. They had plenty of opportunities but just could not find the net.


Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh opened the scoring in the 36th minute for PKNS after he sent a rebound past goalkeeper Mohd Izham Tarmizi.

Safee Sali and Safiq Rahim was sent in for the second half to replace Mohd Nurul Azwan Roya and Shakir Saari. The immediate effect was awesome as Safee came close to putting his name on the scoresheet in the 47th minute, but his attempt from outside the box was saved by PKNS goalkeeper Mohd Zamir Selamat


However, JDT found the equaliser through winger Mahali Jasuli nine minutes later. PKNS were reduced to 10 men after veteran defender P. Gunalan picked up a second booking in the 86th minute for a foul on Safee. Despite having the extra player on the field, JDT failed to find the most needed winner.

SELANGOR IS BACK IN THE HUNT FOR AFC CUP

AFC CUP: SELANGOR 3 - HANOI T&T 1

Despite only collecting just two points from 3 matches played in first round of AFC Cup competition, Selangor bounced back  in style for the second round of the tournament. The Red Giants earned their first win with a 3 – 1 score against Hanoi T&T at Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday. Paulo Rangel is the hero again after hitting a hattrick for Selangor. The Brazillian has now scored 4 goals from 4 matches.

Selangor took the lead in 21st minutes with a fine lob from Rangel. The Red Giants doubled the lead twelve minute later after A.Thamil Arasu cross was tapped by Abdul Hadi before Rangel completed with a superb shot. The Vietnam side managed to reduce the deficit in 36th minutes after Ahmad Hazwan Bakri brought down Hector in the penalty box, and Morrankle delivered a perfect shot to beat Farizal Marlias.

Selangor seal the victory a minute before halftime after Hanoi T&T defender make a mistake and Rangel smartly took the opportunity to beat Hanoi's goalkeeper for his third goal of the night. The win gave The Red Giants three important points and Selangor remain at the third place with 5 points while Hanoi T&T still on top with 9 points, followed by Arema FC with 7 points after 4 games played. The bottom spot is occupied by Maziya SC from Maldives with just one point.

SIME DARBY CLAIMS VICTORY OVER ATM


MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 3 - ATM 2

Sime Darby FC secured a win to lift them off from the bottom of the Malaysia Super League table in an exciting match against struggling ATM 3-2.

The Gladiators started off well when Bruno Martelotto scored an early goal for ATM. Arif Ismail equalised for Sime Darby in the 29th minute when he slots in a good pass from Juzaili. The score remained at 1-1 until the first half whistle.


ATM came back stronger in the second half and they added the second goal from Juan Arostegui in the 55th minute. The home side took control of the game after the goal and William Mensah equalised in the 60th minute as he scored from the rebound after Syed Adney spilled Yosri's freekick. 


Mahmoud Al Amna scored the winner for Sime Darby five minutes later. The Syrian striker collects Hazli's pass, tricked the defender and unleashed powerful shot to beat the ATM keeper. The goal was enough to ensure another victory for Sime Darby.

FELDA SINKS PERLIS

MALAYSIA PREMIER LEAGUE: FELDA UTD 5 - PERLIS 1
 
Felda United took full advantage of playing on their home ground by demolishing Perlis in a Malaysia Premier League match on Friday. Edward Junior Wilson claimed a hattrick after scoring in the 7th, 10th and 14th minute.


Perlis Dao Bakary found the net in the 16th minute to reduce the deficit. However, Makeche Ndumba scored Felda's fourth goal of the night right before the break.


Solihin Kanasian completed Felda United's goal fest when he found the net right before the final whistle. The win sent Felda United to third position in the Malaysia Premier League, while Perlis dropped at the bottom three of the table.
